Hey everybody Braeden here! Just wanted to hop on really quick and let you know what’s going on in my world as well as the world of BP&WH.
I should start by saying we’ve had a weird summer here in Texas on terms of weather. The temperature felt amazingly good in June and July. At our last show at Oakdale Park in Glen Rose, the summer temperatures began to creep in. Since we were playing outdoors, we felt it would be best to dress down rather than wear our usual shirts and ties. It ended up being a great idea. I was plesantly surprised by the people who braved the heat to hear us and the other groups that evening, but it ended up being a great reminder of just how loyal the Bluegrass community is. Since we’re talking about shows, I’d like to tell you about our next appearance that’s coming up soon.
On Saturday August 31, we’ll be performing in Bonham, TX at the Carleton House Bed & Breakfast for their special Labor Day Event. We’ll be playing from 6:00-9:00 P.M, so you will get to hear us present three sets of solid Traditional Bluegrass music. A few years ago Dad and I performed at the Carleton as a duo for a private event that was happening there. Steve & Kay Hallbrook, who manage the B&B are wonderful people. We’re real excited to have been asked to be part of their Labor Day celebration. Steve is a great musician in his own right. Don’t be surprised if you hear him play a song or two with us during the evening! If you’d like to go to this event, reservations must be made. For more information, call (903)-583-2779 or send an email to info@CarletonHouse.com.
As far as myself I’ve been staying busy keeping my B. Paul Entertainment artists on the road, writing posts & album reviews for the Bluegrass Society of America Facebook page, and just trying to stay happy & healthy in general! I’m also in the process of planning a special blog post which I’ll hopefully have up in a few months. I don’t want to give too much away right now, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to write about for awhile and even more so after a recent experience I had. I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
As Porky Pig used to say on Looney Tunes, “that’s all folks!” I hope you all have a great morning, afternoon, evening or whatever you time you read this.
