Hey everybody! We hope you’ve been having a great holiday season so far. I just wanted to write this brief post to let you know about a few things concerning the band and this blog. A year ago on December 9, 2017 we made our first official appearance as Braeden Paul & Wheel Hoss. We’ve done some great shows and had great things happen for us along the way. I’d like to thank everyone who booked us to play a show, the audiences we’ve played for and just everyone who’s shown us support. I’d also like to particularly thank Glenn Reid for filling in with us on bass this past September. He did a wonderful job especially on short notice. In honor of our one year anniversary and the Christmas season, I have released a partial video of us performing “Christmas Time’s A Comin,” a song originally recorded by Bill Monroe. You can hear our rendition of it by clicking this link. I hope you enjoy it.
We have a few exciting things in the works for next year. While I can’t reveal everything right now, I can say that we’ve already confirmed two live appearances. On January 19 we’ll be at the Plaza Theater in Garland, TX as part of the Jim Paul Miller Memorial Show. On July 20 we’ll be at Oakdale Park in Glen Rose, TX as part of the Paluxy Bluegrass Association concert series. We played both of these shows this year and we’re honored to have been invited back. For more details on either of these dates, click on our Schedule page. We are also currently accepting bookings for 2019. To find out more about that, click on our Booking Info page.
I have begun brainstorming ideas for future blog posts. I started working on this blog with the hope that you would find my different stories entertaining, amusing or inspiring in some way. While not all of them fall under that category, several people have expressed to me how much they enjoy my writing. I’m really grateful for that. It has motivated me to keep putting up new posts and has helped me come up with ideas for things I’d like to talk about in the future. If you’re a regular reader of this blog, thank you so much. I really appreciate it more than I can fully express. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
